Name: | 極東朝廷 Kyokuto Chotei (The Eastern Court) |

Birthdate: | Oct 29 |
Name:
極東朝廷 Kyokuto Chotei (The Eastern Court)
Age:
They're unfathomably old Tengui, probably millennium old, possibly as old as the 12 Dimensions themselves, definitely as old as Ancient Fairy Dragon. And it's rude to ask a woman her age so you won't get how old Ancient Fairy Dragon is. So it's hard to say how old the Tengu are, but they're old in a very annoying way of being Terribly Mysterious.
Gender:
The members of the Eastern Court consists of Tengu who identify and present as male, female, and non-conforming, though Her Ladyship and His Lordship identity as female and male respectively.
Occupation:
A royal court, His Lordship Hikokujaku and Her Ladyship Himekujaku are currently the sole masters of the depopulated Realm of Faerie, after ejecting Ancient Fairy Dragon and the Western Fae out of Faerie. Basically they're insufferable aristocrats, if that counts as an occupation. It's more of a title and position, but being aristocracy isn't necessarily work.
Duel Information:
The Eastern Court for the most part favors WIND and Winged Beast Themes. Windwitch, Lyrilusc, Simorgh, Shinobird, Tri-Brigade, Harpies, Raidraptor, Dragunity, Gusto, Nephthys, Flowandereeze, Mecha Phantom Beast, Symphonic Warrior, Majespecter, Yosenju, Ritual Beasts, Armed Dragon, etc. are all Decks the Eastern Court would be willing to play.
PB and/or Description:
The Shinobirds will be represented by the following dramatis personae for now:
• Shinobaron Peacock, a young Japanese man in fine garbs with peacock-like patterns
• Shinobaroness Peacock, a young Japanese woman in equally fine feminine garbs with peacock-like patterns
• Shinobird Crane, a fursuit black crane person with white wings in archer's clothes with an elegant bow
• Shinobird Pigeon, a fursuit pigeon man who looks like an older scribe
• Shinobird Crow, a fursuit ninja crow.
• Probably other bird monsters, no, Blackwings aren't real, I won't allow them to count, they're too fursuit among fursuits. Crow Goblin, Great Long Nose, Crow Tengu, Dotedotengu and Reborn Tengu seem likely.
Personality:
The general members of the Eastern Court are generally very reclusive and extremely proud and arrogant, seeing themselves (due in part due to being major Eastern Yokai). They aren't malicious and cruel, they are generally extremely proud, as even the lowest level members of the Court are incredibly powerful Fae, capable of performing magic the four standard schools would be shocked by (whatever that is). The Court generally comes off as mysterious, ever-shifting, and inscrutable, and best summed up as Terribly Mysterious. And it's hard to list everyone but there are three key actors I can think of that matter:
=Lord Baron Hikokujaku, the Shinobaron Peacock=
(He/Him)
=Lady Baroness Himekujaku, the Shinobaroness Peacock=
(She/Her)
Very regal minded members of The Eastern Court, and the lords and masters of the Tengu Yokai. Despite their haughtiness and pride, the Baron and Baroness heavily believe in Noblesse oblige, that their position of power as the supreme lords of the Tengu, obligates them to wield the power for what they view as the greater good. However, being essentially The Seelie Court of the East, the Baron and Baroness have the typical issue of having a morality system that seems fairly off angle from human morality, so much so that they come off as psychopaths to some, and completely deranged with no grounding of reality for their actions (see them booting Ancient Fairy Dragon and the entire Western Court out of Faerie into Domino.).
But there's a very possible chance all their goals and ambitions are a pretense because they want Zeppelins around on Earth and think Zeppelins are cool, among other things, such as making Japan go back to very Edo era architecture, and they just like magic. But the Baron sees himself as the Shepard of Progress and Evolution, and the lady Himekujaku views herself as the Weaver of Destinies. They also rarely like to show up in the same place. As a result, some suggest they might be two sides of the same being, or they've fused as one. But no one is quite sure.
=Hatomaru, the Shinobird Pigeon Scribe=
(He/Him)
Oddly enough, one of the least arrogant of the Shinobird Tengu. He is assigned by the Baron and Baroness to keep watch of the Silver Key, one Kiriya Kamala, and see if she would blossom into becoming the Silver Key capable of opening the Ultimate Gate marked by The Yellow Sign of Katakamuna. As a person, his personality is that of a kindly uncle or grandfather, and keeps firm records (possibly fanfics) of the Lady Kamala's comings and goings, hopes and dreams, and life, and has been watching her since either around the time AFD was poisoned or before then, but is usually unseen by mere mortals, to ensure his work flow. He's very excited about Kamala's burgeoning psychic powers, and wishes to see her Ladyship, the blessed granddaughter of Chaos and daughter of Misfortune and the Underworld, blossom into a fine young woman. It is also likely he has made sure through his own magic that Kamala has not come to harm due to his natural liking to her. But this liking does not extend to others should they interfere with his duties to see her guided to The Yellow Sign and open The Ultimate Gate with the Silver Key.
There are also two lesser actors of prominence.
=Kurasumaru, the Shinobird Crow Ninja=
(He/Him)
He's literally Crow from 5D's as a Ninja, possibly Walder from Granblue Fantasy. Basically a loud mouth who thinks the idea of camouflage and the like is for wusses, and thinks the true art of the Ninja is being highly visible, extremely loud, and using multi-color smoke explosions. He serves the Baron and Baroness but he's currently helping Hatomaru as needed, to protect Kiriya Kamala.
=Tsurumaru, the Shinobird Crane Archer=
(They/Them)
A crane archer and shaman who serves as herald and speaker for the Baron and Baronness. They're pretty arrogant and have no major personality traits besides the general ego you'd expect from a Tengu and an air of smug auspiciousness, and serves as the right hand of the Baron and Baroness.
History:
As Fae, the Eastern Court are generally timeless, and it's hard to really pin-down a sense of 'history' to them. But let's see, a basic hit list...
• The Shinobird court might be a lost faction of Katakamuna, the World of Paradise.
• They became situated in Faerie and became denizens of the realm.
• After much competition and intrigue, the Eastern Court unseated a powerful Kitsune Fae that ruled the East of Faerie for many eons, and sealed her in a rock, either in Faerie or on Earth. Rumor has it the Kitsune had a powerful bloodline.
• They came to a peace with The Western Court ruled by The High Queen of All Faerie, Ancient Fairy Dragon, who answers to the Crimson Dragon
• They aided in curing Her Majesty's poisoning
• They started tracking Kiriya Kamala, Her Ladyship The Princess Of This World With Power Over Air And Darkness And The Heiress of Misfortune, believing her to be the Key to return to Katakamuna.
• They inexplicably threw Ancient Fairy Dragon and the Western Seelie Court out of Faerie and Barred Its Doors, preventing entry by Ruka, her Ancient Fairy Dragon, Kamala, or the present Ancient Fairy Dragon, or even Shinoko, former Signer.
More stuff will be made up as we go along. Don't @ me. You know I bullshit things up best on the spot and what comes out of my head made of endless fluff, and this covers most of what we need from them for the moment.
Abilities:
As Tengu, the Eastern Court are powerful ascetics and sorcerers, with incredible magical power, and as members of Faerie, these Yokai are capable of besting Black, White, Demonic and Illusion Magic with ease, provided they care to.
Among their capabilities are:
■ Incredible Speed, moving so fast as to leave afterimages.
■ The ability to walk through the air.
■ Magical Fans that control the wind and rain
■ Baleful Polymorphs
■ Poison Curatives
This isn't a be-all, end-all, and likely can do other things.
